Rangers send Brennan Othmann back to Hartford after brief NHL taste
Brennan Othmann has been sent back down to AHL Hartford, as the 21-year-old might not be ready for the role the Rangers need to fill.
Brennan Othmann was assigned to Hartford in the AHL, the Rangers announced Tuesday.
The young forward sat for all but a pair of shifts in the second period of Mondays ugly loss to Vancouver before returning to more normal playing time in the third.
It was Othmanns third NHL game and while he showed promise, the 21-year-old might not be ready for the role the Rangers need to fill in the absence of Kaapo Kakko, who has been out with a leg injury since Nov. 27.
The Rangers dont play again until Thursday in St. Louis, but they could make another roster move Tuesday to fill Othmanns spot.
