How did the Fanatics Sportsbook New York partnership start?

Fanatics and PointsBet announced on May 14, 2023 that the sports e-commerce company was acquiring the online sportsbook. It was no cheap deal, since it took about $150M for Fanatics to buy PointsBets U.S. assets. In October 2023, Fanatics’ NY license was approved.

Because of this acquisition of PointsBet, Fanatics Sportsbook now has access to all of these states and will look to launch relatively soon.

Maryland

Sports betting officially went live in Maryland in November 2022. Bettors in Maryland can place wagers at the Fanatics Sportsbook retail location at FedEx Field in Landover. There is not yet a timeline for when Fanatics Sportsbook will launch online betting in Maryland.

Massachusetts

Massachusetts is the most recent U.S. state to approve online sports betting when it launched in March 2023.

Similarly to Maryland, Fanatics is not operational in Massachusetts just yet. It was approved and licensed by the state in January 2023 and there is not yet an announcement of when online betting will go live.

Ohio

Fanatics is actually live in Ohio right now after officially launching the sportsbook in the Buckeye State.

Tennessee
